Subsurface Explorer, Provinces not shown and Crash after Close

Hello,
I installed iMOD5.2 and would like to use the Subsurface Explorer. Problem is that layer Provinces is not shown and after closing the Subsurface Explorer, iMOD crashes (is closed too).
elated files (attached) look fine to me:
- C:\Program_Files\iMOD_5_2\IMOD_INIT.PRF
- C:\Program_Files\iMOD_5_2\SUBSURFEXDBASE\DBASE\SETTINGS.TXT
- C:\Program_Files\iMOD_5_2\SUBSURFEXDBASE\DBASE\PROVINCES.7z
The problem is the same as described in https://oss.deltares.nl/web/imod/forum_categories/-/message_boards/message/775195
Question: What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Martin

 Hi Martin,

Thanks for your message. I downloaded your files in order to try and reproduce your issue.
First about the Provinces file. I found out that iMOD can not handle (yet) binary GEN files in the Subsurface Explorer. We will fix that. A workaround for now: use the ASCII version of the GEN file. I attached a new version of the 7Z file to this issue.
You can convert any binary GEN file yourself using iMOD. Go to the "create GEN" window, open the binary GEN file and save it again in ASCII format.

Then about the crash of iMOD after closing the Subsurface Explorer window. My iMOD session crashes too. So also on this issue we try to fix it in the new version. The only workaround I can think of is that (only for your work with the Subsurface Explorer) you try to use an earlier version, e.g. iMOD5.1.

We are close to the release of version 5.3 so I hope this fix can be included.

Kind regards,
Frans
