RIBASIM computes the water balance for all elements in the network schematization over time. Those water balances on the level of defined water bodies can be exported to the Water Framework Directive (WFD) explorer. In the WFD explorer the water balance data are combined with water quality data, water bodies characteristics, measures and ecological knowledge rules. The combination of RIBASIM and the WFD explorer allows the evaluation of the ecological status of water bodies and the assessment of the effectiveness of measures to improve the ecological quality.
