Tutorial Folder Missing from Directory

I'm learning Delft3D 4.04.01 for work but the tutorial folder is missing in the installed directory.

Fraction as a depth value - Quickin-Grid ?

Hello ! I am new here and not quite familiar with how the program works. My current assignment demands that I change the depth of the bathymetry in Quickin-Grid, though as soon as I try to change the depth value, I cannot insert a dot ".", I can insert comas "," between numbers but it does not register the number as a fraction and automatically translate it to zero "0". In other words, I am not able to add fractions as a depth value manually. Am I using the wrong function, perhaps?

GUI not starting

Hi everyone, i compiled the source and tested it running the example files. Now i received the GUI, installed everything but when i try to run the GUI doesn´t open and show the command prompt window for 1 second and close. what can i do?

sub-grid scale horizontal eddy viscosity

Hi,

The User Manual states in Table 9.2, that the sub-grid scale (SGS) horizontal eddy viscosity \nu_SGS is "-" if HLES is not used. Regarding the sub-grid scale horizontal eddy diffusivity, Table 9.3 says that D_SGS is 0 when HLES is not used. My confusion is: what happens with \nu_SGS when I do not use HLES? Does "-" in Table 9.2 mean that it is just 0?

The question might sound trivial, but it would be great to get feedback.

For those who are interested, looking for similar problems in the forum I have managed to solve it by deleting the following folder:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\%USERNAME%\mcrCache8.2

Quickplot hangs when launched: "Please wait ... QuickPlot is loading"

When I start QuickPlot in Delft3D 4.04.02 I get a window saying "Please wait... QuickPlot is loading". Normally this window disappears in 2-3 seconds, but today it just hangs and doesn't respond. It only happens when I open Quickplot, when I open RGFGRID or QUICKIN it works fine. What I can do? Thanks. Greetings.

Strange issue with git conflicting with "more.exe"

Hello there,

as detailed in this post (https://superuser.com/questions/1452793/git-branch-command-not-working-but-other-command-do), the file "more.exe" conflicts with some git commands, such as git branch or git log (check attachments)

Any idea why? Is there a quick solution that doesn't involve uninstalling Delft3D?

Main program of d-hydro and start of subroutine trisim

Hi, everyone
I am try to understand the source code of the Delft3D. I went through the source code and found main program in d-hydro.cpp is the start of the delft3d-flow. I understand that the class DeltaresHydro is a facility to read the file input and the subroutine trisim in trisim.f90 is called to simulate a case. My question is how the main program call the trisim. In main program, a member of DeltaresHydro DH calls its member function Run. But the Run call itself in its deinfition in line 387. I still cannot find out how trisim is called in the code. My tag of the source code is 66366, and I am trying in parallel mode.

Hello,

I'm trying to make a run in parallel, and while the setup is running, I'm not sure if it's actually running in parallel or not.

I get the message "Unable to open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MPICH\SMPD..."

In addition, I did execute "smpd -install" as instructed in the standard parallel example 01
(you can take a look at the run_flow2d3d_parallel.bat screenshot I attached.

I don't know what other information should I provide to be advised on this problem, so please let me know what additional info you may need.

I am using the Windows GUI to prepare input files but I want to run the simulations on linux because I have access to better computational resources.

How do I prepare my files from the Windows GUI for linux simulation? Is there an easy way to generate all necessary files for linux i.e., all config files and bash scripts necessary.

Problem Running RTC

Hello,

I tried to run RTC module based on the instruction on the llatest Delft3D Flow Manual (V.3.15) and test example, 09.01-flow rtc from Adri Mourits. I could run the
first step to open <config_flow2d3d.xml> but nothing happens afterward and when I pressed a key, this sentence appeared in the CMD:
"This version of RTC should be used together with SobekCF/RR or with Delft3D. Correct the settings in your RTC.DAT file."
I am not really sure what to do at this point (beside that there is no clues about how to adjust that .dat file), can anyone give me some advices to solve this problem?

Running Flexible MEsh in linux

I am trying to run Flexible Mesh in Linux. I downloaded and installed delft3dfm-cli-hmwq_lnx64-2022.02-24.x86_64.rpm but when I am trying to run a simulation I get the following error:

Hi. I have once had that problem. I think you should renew your license. Get the new one by filling the Request form for Delft3D Graphical User Interface. You will get the new license after 5 days work. I hope it can solve the problem.

Dear Pilar,

Regarding question 1: you can couple the wave and the flow module using Integrated models with online or offline coupling (see section 3.5.6 in the User Manual).

Regarding question 2: The MOR module is currently only functioning in the Delft3D FM. For detailed information about the functions, you can check the D-Morphology Manual (http://content.oss.deltares.nl/delft3d/manuals/D-Morphology_User_Manual.pdf)

I have installed the license file but I couldn't open the” Delft3D 4.04.02” on the desktop after the installation was complete. When I open the " Delft3D 4.04.02", the interface shows "License is not valid".

Wave module, Flow module and MOR module

Good afternoon,

I have two questions about the results and the simulation of the model:

1. If I want to have the interaction of waves and currents. do I have to run the Wave Module first and its outputs put them in the Flow module? or they are fed back by a time step?

2. I have seen that there is a MOR module for sediment transport and bathymetry change, is this module better than the FLOW module outputs for sediment transport and bathymetry change?

My problem is to study the scour in the coastline because of the presence of a seawall.
