I am using an older version of the software that necessitates me prescribing the evaporation as a negative rainfall rate.

after several months of running, some areas in the simulation are showing values of 400+ PPT of salinity. I have tried to address this by modifying the dry cell threshold, which helps to some degree, but I am wondering if there are other tools for addressing this besides reducing the evaporation time series.

I see a value called "Sal0abovezlev" in the MDU file but when I try and change it, the model will not run.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Russell Nasrallah
United States Army Corps of Engineers

The depth-averaged velocities become unrealistically high in some cases, in that cells where a dry cell is flooded. However, this error only occurs in the depth-averaged velocities. Because of this error, the error message probably appeared with the other solver. In the velocities of the individual layers the error with the high velocities does not appear at any time.

I would be glad if someone can enlighten me why these unrealistically high velocities partly occur when flooding a cell.

Thanks a lot!
