Dear Abdulla Mohamed,

In Delta Shell, it is not possible to set different values for different layer depth yet (the figure in the User Manual is misleading and we have corrected recently.) This is also not possible in the upcoming FM release of 2017, which will be in next week.

However, if you are a beta-user, you can do it through MDU file. In this case, you can set the following two keywords in [geometry] of the MDU file: set "StretchType" to 1 and specify "stretchCoef" the percentages you want. Then run this MDU file in command line.

Note that the 3D model simulation (both sigma and z-layers) has not been officially released yet!

With kind regards,

Jing Zhao
Deltares

Hello,
I am trying to implement vertical depth layers of varying percentages in the newest release of Delta Shell 2017 (Delft3D M Suite 2017 HMWQ) Version 1.2.2.36603.
Looking at the d flow FM in Delta Shell Manual (Version 1.2.1, December 16,2016), it looks like I should be able to do it pretty easily in Delta Shell.
The attached figure "Vertical Layers_Manual.PNG" shows this section in the Manual and looks like I should be able to change the percentages as long as everything adds to 100 %.
But when tyring in delta shell, (attached figure "Vertical_Layers_Delta_Shell.PNG") I do not seem to be able to change the percentages.
The goal is to define the top layer with a smaller percentage of the total depth.
If any can help me out, on how this can be done, I would very much appreciate it.
If not on Delta Shell can this be adjusted in .mdu file? or else where in the input files?

Thank you very much for the help.

Cheers,
Abdulla
