Is there an update on how to use the Veg. Point Model?
Does developing the trachytope representation not impact flow in a 3D model?
Thanks,
ari

Hi Ari,
The documentation is not yet updated with respect to the Vegetation point model. I'm sorry for that.
Attached are two example testcases. Does that help?
Regards,
Adri

Adri,
Thank you! That is a huge help. I do have a few questions about your methodology.
Is this information used to adjust the roughness coefficient used, or how is it used in flow computation?
How are the plant arrays updated?
How would I estimate turbulent length scale between stems for shrubs? Do you have a reference paper for this computation?
Thanks Again,
ari

Dear Ari:
They are good questions. Could you post them under the Bio-morphology topic?
Let me try to answer some of them.
Is this information used to adjust the roughness coefficient used?
Yes, for 2d. No, for DPMV.
How are the plant arrays updated?
In the trachytope representation and 3D DPMV, the vegetation array is not updated. But we recently have a vegetation dynamics model in Delft3D WAQ, which could provide time and space varying vegetation values and online coupled with Delft3D FLOW.
How would I estimate turbulent length scale between stems for shrubs?
Turbulent length scale is not estimated here, but by solving k-e eqations.
Hope it helps a bit...

Dear Ye,
I am also trying to use DPM to model vegetation impact in my model. I wanted to understand more about this model, so I was trying to find the source code of DPM. However, because of no instruction available for source code, I couldn't find it.
Could you tell me which source code file it is for DPM?
Sincerely,
Fanjinghui
